2009 Cal Ripken All Star Team
The 2009 Cal Ripken (11 & 12 Year Old) All Star Team will be playing in the National Cooperstown Tournament of Champions in Cooperstown, New York!
The Cooperstown All Star Village is a top notch Family Baseball Resort that offers U10 and U12 teams from around the country the opportunity to compete against each other in historic Cooperstown, NY. Opening in 2004 our goal to provide every player with a major league baseball experience. We accomplish this by providing two major league style button-down uniforms with matching hat and socks. We also have some of the best fields in the region. They were all professionally installed and display different Major League patterns on the outfield. We also give each player and coach a ring at closing ceremonies that is modeled after the actual ring the Hall of Fame Inductees receive.
The facility is two levels; the first level is for the families of the players. We have a hotel onsite that includes a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center and arcade. We also have a restaurant/ bar lounge on site where you can eat and watch all the games live on TV’s. Each field is equipped with a camera that feeds into the restaurant. The second level has the 8-lighted fields along with the batting cages and bunkhouses and Medical facility. Each team has their own room that has 20 beds in it, four full size and 16-twin size. The room also has A/C and a 27-inch color TV. We also have a separate swimming pool, shaped like a baseball glove, and arcade for the players.
First priority for the 2009 Cal Ripken All Star Team will be given to those players who were on the 2008 Cal Ripken All Star Team.
Coaches for the 2009 Cal Ripken All Star Team will be Joe Rizzo, Chris Glas and Donnie Fletcher.
Frederick Baseball Association will be raising funds this year and next in order to send the team to Cooperstown, NY.
